I don't have a lot of info on my ancestors although I would be interested in what you have found out if there is any connection between our families. What I do know for sure is that my Grandfather (William Magner) moved to Buffalo NY from Scranton, PA area in the early 1900's. Most of the Magners that I am related to live, or lived, in Buffalo and Scranton. As far as I know his parents emigrated to the Scranton, PA area from Ireland (there is some conflicting info that there are connections to Wales also). In Scranton, PA they worked in the coalmines. In Buffalo they worked in the steel mills. My grandfather had a sister who lived in Scranton. Her name was Mary. I believe he had several other brothers and sisters but I am not sure how many or their names at this time. If we do have some connection I could find out more info. Let me know.

After looking over the list of misc. Magner names, I found one Samuel Magner. My great great grandfather is named Samuel Magner from Mercer Co Pennsylvania. He was born March 15, 1829 and died on November 18, 1903 at Springfield, Nebraska. No county records from Mercer County are available as a fire destroyed them. This is where our trail has always ended when trying to trace the Magner name. >From this Samuel Magner down to myself, I have a very complete family history. I look forward to hearing from you and sharing with you any information I have. By the way, my father's name was also James. Jerry L. A friend directed me towards your web site, and I think I saw my grandparents listed. (My great grandparents came over from Ireland in the late 1800's.) I am 31, and the oldest of 5 kids. 4 of our parents and us live in the Chicago area. One brother lives in Minneapolis. My father has a cousin here also. My father and his cousin have no brothers or sisters. We don't know of any other relatives. We've been to Magner's Bar in Ireland. My great grandfather, Thomas J. Magner, started Meeker-Magner Company in 1902. Today, my father, Thomas Gerald Magner Jr. is President, and I am a Vice President.
