Hello, this is Gary Michael Magner of St. Paul, MN. I have not been on this site
for a couple of years. Suddenly, a customer asked me to join them to their plant
in Clonmel (Limerick, Ireland in mid August. I now am rushing to re-familiarize
myself with my roots as I will have a couple of days to look around. To the best
of my knowledge, my great grandfather came here in 1852 at the age of 15 with
his Uncle Michael Madigan. I have reason to believe he was born near Adare in
County Limerick and lived on a farm on the south shore of the Shannon river. If
anyone has any light to share with me, I could use some help with my first trip
to Ireland. Thank you all. Gary

>I'm interested in any
information on the MAGNERS from Killavullen, County Cork and from Yonkers, NY.
My wife's great grandmother was Kathryn MURRAY née MAGNER (1875-1957) of
Yonkers, the daughter of Edward MAGNER and Frances WELSCH.
Edward MAGNER (1845-1912),
the son of Timothy MAGNER and Johanna WALSCH, from Killavullen, came in the US
when he was 16. He married about 1868 and had a milk business and a farm in
upstate New York near Beacon. His children lived mainly in Yonkers.
<<In the US, I am trying to localize his cousin, the only one
bearing the name MAGNER (and descendants if has some) of Edward's lineage:
Austin P. MAGNER born May 26, 1908 in Yonkers. In 1985, he lived in Monmouth
Beach>
Thank you for your help !
